There is a rumor going around the board of finheaven and the arizona cards that edge was traded to Cards for a 2nd round pick. I guess it was heard on Fox Sports Radio... heres the link to the message boards about this discussion.. if this goes throug, then so much for the Henry trade... oh well.

The only way I see that being real is if it includes swapping positions in the 1st round. No way James straight up for a 2.

I'll believe it when it's really reported

Indy is getting the short end on that one if that is it....I don't think that is real. Not yet at least.

If it is indeed true, what could Indy possibly offer us for Henry?

That would be INSANE for Indy if they only get a 2nd rounder. :shakeno:

marshal faulk was traded for a 2nd... dillon for a 3rd..

If all Indy gets for Edge is a 2nd rounder, what the hell is TD gonna get for Henry, a 5th rounder?

I don't think there's any way Edge is worth more than a 2nd... He's above average but no way the elite back he once was...

One thing I heard that I would consider is using Henry to try and move up in the draft. One suggestion I liked was trying to move up in the second round to grab a guy like Baas from Michigan.

I think that the best thing to do now is try to trade Henry for a conditional pick next year if TD can't get a day 1 pick and wait until draft day if u have to, or even training camp.

I wouldn't be too surprised if this rumor is true. Not because of the source, but because it makes sense. You guys are right, Edge is still very good, but aging. And this is a very high second-round pick, barely out of the first round.

Where could it lead?

Hmmm . . . Henry and our third- or fourth-round pick to Indy for the 2nd round pick they might have just acquired from AZ?

Would that mean trading Henry AND our No. 2 for a higher No. 2? There better be more in it than that! Or would we still keep our own No. 2?

I think Henry would probable like to get the ball handed to him from his college QB.

Not to nidpick but Dillon was for a 2nd as well. Faulk also brought in a 5th round pick (Scioli who was just released).

If Dillon with all the character problems, age and injuries can warrant a 2nd round pick I would think James would warrant more then that.

Polian doesn't want to deal with the contract problems. Same situation when he traded Faulk to St Louis for a 2nd and 5th.

I was dreaming that this would be a three way deal where Buffalo gets Shelton and Henry goes to Indy.

E James also comes with the burden of a large contract (or soon to be large contract) that Henry would not come with. James is also on the downside of his career, so a 2nd round pick wouldnt be too bad for indy

problem is.. no one wants him w/ his assinine contract demands.. he is acting like he has a leg to stand on.. his ass is perilously close to riding the bench all year.. but he wants to demand a new contract.

idiot... henry.. not you, mikey

James is 26. Henry is 26. James is 3 months older then Henry. Not sure how a 26 year old is on the downside of his career.

One problem with this rumor: the fish don't have a 2nd rounder in this draft.

Who said anything about Edge going to the Fish? The Cards are the one that is the rumor of this trade and they do have teir second round pick.

It's the 44th pick in the draft- I can see it.

1- Edge is unsigned. He will cost a team almost $6 million withthe tag and the new team will need to pony up a big bucket of cash. That drives the value down

2- Henry has a cheap conract for 1 more season- and probably will sign an extention at a fraction of what Edge wants. That may make Henry's value rise a bit.

Yup. The only minor issue here (and I don't see it as much of an issue, myself) would be Dennis Green's proclaimation that he's trying to accumulate as many drafts as possible this year. Not that I understand why. Unless he's gathering picks for future drafts, this year's draft isn't really worth the extra pick. At least, not in comparison to picking up someone like James.
