I got to skip my first game ever on Friday night...we were on a sheet with brand new rocks and they were curling like mad...quick recap...

Last rock - 1st end: I was sitting second stone, the opposing skip chips my rock out to score 5! Great shot.

2nd end: I drew around 4 rocks to just touch the button and score 1.

We kept on going back and forth...we ended up losing 8-3 (6 ends). That first end killed us. Our vice missed both of his shots and their skip made a great shot to kick mine out...Think I might sign up to be a Vice next year...I usually second or vice.

I took Eb Jr. Friday. He got to throw the little rocks before and after and had a blast. He even throw a couple of the big stones and got one to the hog line...he couldn't get out of the hack though...

I see Ferby's rink won again! Amazing. I don't have canadian TV any more so missed the final. Did you get a chance to go this weekend?

We tried to get tickets to the fina, but we would have been sitting way up in the nose bleeds, so we opted to watch it on Tee Vee.

Adams made a huge mistake in the 8th when he could have made a triple, but decided on T-line weight instead of hack weight. It caused him to leave two of the three he was trying to take out.

Ferby scored one to tie, then blanked the ninth having the hammer in the final. Nedohin only had to draw four foot for the win. Ferby played the better game and deserved the win. Too bad because I was cheering for Adams.

We did go to the big beer gardens on Friday night and met some of the curlers from Ontario, Newfoundland and Alberta. It was a great party.

Iliked on of the TV ads that was running during the Brier which said "They say football is a game of inches." It then showed someone drawing to the button in between two stones with millimetres on each side. They then said "I wish we had inches"

Great ad.

Sounds like something "Pee Wee" Herman would say :chuckle:

The T of H is in London, Ont. next year...might be an idea just to drive up for a day...don't forsee a tournament ever getting closer to Buffalo than that.

London? Cool, I live about an hour and a half from there.

P.S. Did you guys watch the Brier final last night? What a match! When Alberta cleared their own rock in the 9th instead of drawing for 2, that took pure sack.

What a fun looking sport, honestly i'd love to play it. I had fun with it on a Olympics game.

It looks so easy too, when I first tried it, I threw the rock so damn hard, I nearly killed the skip lol. The next one was a hog.

As do most of us in the Buffalo area...

I really should see if there is interest in having a BillsZone curling party next year.

If he didn't blank the ninth, Nova Scotia would have the hammer and an edge.

always is an advantage to have the hammer in the last end...

we were down by 6 on Friday and I had 6 rocks in play, 5 in the rings and I had a chance with my final stone to hit rock that was lying 2nd shot out and stay and score 4...just missed...if it had worked out better I might have been able to get the 6...very long shot though.

I don't know what possessed me to read this entire thread, but couldn't understand a word of it- these Canadians must be writing in French or something.

but Alberta is in Canada and one of the two national languages there is French, even if most people there don't speak it.
