    Burress Signs with NY Giants...

Just saw it on Sportscenter... Here's a link about talks resuming for now...

Just one week after abruptly breaking off contract negotiations with Plaxico Burress, the New York Giants on Thursday evening signed the free agent wide receiver to a six-year, $25 million contract, ESPN.com has learned.

Good pickup for the Giants. They will definitely be throwing the ball a lot, so that should keep Burress happy. The "pass only when necessary" offense that Pittsburgh ran last year certainly did not sit well with Burress who seemed to be more concerned with catching passes than winning.

Manning finally has some interesting weapons in j-shock, burress and toomer. This addition should make them a whole lot better on offense.

The Giants are going to be good next year. They have added a really good player to the o-line(McKenzie), the linebacking corps(Pierce), and now Burress. They could contend with Philly if Manning lives up to what he's supposed to be.

                Early predictions for that division:

                Philly-12-4
                NYG- 10-6
                Dal- 8-8
                Was-7-9

no way, 8-8 at best... that o-line is horrible... the defense aint much better. However, they're in the NFC, anything can happen.

They got two really good tackles now in McKenzie and Petitgout. They'll get Seubert back from injury and they just need the other 2 guys to be average. The defense still has Strahan who is very good although old, Emmons is a solid LB, Pierce is a solid LB, Allen and Peterson are decent but they could certainly improve at the corner spot, and they have a solid young safety in Gibril Wilson. It would not shock me to see them go 10-6 or better and make the playoffs in that weak NFC.

That is actually a pretty odd signing. Not for the player, but Drew Rosenhaus was just hired by Burress and because Plax signed with the Giants the other agent gets the commision because he made the deal.

with gilbride's O and those weapons (barber is a VERY good fit for the run and shoot style too) I could see Manning having some really big numbers.

I could also see the Raiders have a big move up in O with the WR power they have and with KC and SD not having very strong pass Ds (i think Denver's pass D will take a step back too).

I still don't think those teams are going to win too much, but should be fun to watch

                              gilbrides offense always fizzles.
