they saved money on Burns by NOT tendering him a deal (about 145K)...betting that they saved about $500K on Wire...won't know until we get the SB numbers.

Wire is a special teams animal. Easily worth what he wound up signing for. Good job TD.

That's what I figured and they re-signed him because he is a great STer. I read that he had like 21 tackles last year, the 4th best on the STs or something like that.

I have no problem with the signing...if this kid can contribute then go for it...

I would have signed for half of what Wire did to tackle the punt catcher.

Seriously...most surgeons don't get half of what Wire will make next year...and his next career as an assistant or head coach at a small DI school is virtually guaranteed because he played in the pros...even the bottom feeders in the NFL have it good.

I wish i was a practice squader.. I think they get around 175 k. Either that, or a third string QB.

Millions?

How many qualified NFL players are there in the world? 1500? 2000?

No offense to Coy Wire, but I'll bet there are a lot of people out there who could do his job.

i want to be the PS backup quarterback. my only job would be to hold the snaps on FG attempts for the backup kicker. If someone gets injured, though, i might get promoted to Eb's dream job of 3rd string clipboard holder. And then Eb would be second string!

It is a lot more difficult than that.....
First you need to fall on a ball and get hurt so you do not get hurt running with the ball aimlessly
Second you need to get $25 million from Bills - they cut him so he did not get all of the money.
