View Full Version : RJ; Gilbride; Similar common sense?

There are a certain type of monkey that you can catch simply by putting some peanuts in a box w/ a hole that's big enough to get your hand into it when empty, but then not large enough for you to remove your hand when it's in a fist full of peanuts. Well, these monkeys are so stupid, that their trappers simply walk up and capture them b/c they won't let go of the peanuts.

I made comparisons to RJ and his not learning how not to take hits from huge and angry LBs coming at him full tilt.

Well, I think that analogy now needs to be applied to Gilbride. He has just as little common sense. We got beat by primarily trying to pass the ball the first time around, and now, he does practically the same thing again when it's as evident as day/night that Bledsoe is struggling.

I just don't get it!

Send Gilbride packing too. The guy's a fool.

I think we may have passed alot today because the score was 17-0 before I finished my first beer.

Yep, its Gilbride's fault for NE walking over our defense like they weren't even there.

The first time we stopped NE was when they ran the clock out before the half.

Is anyone else but me seeing the correlation between when our D gets turnovers to the games we win? The D is getting no pressure on the QB. The D isn't coming up with any turnovers.

The pass play on the 1 yard line was questionable. I have no problem with KG's playcalling all year long.

The D can't stop anything. The second half was better, but the damage was done.

The D has gotten significant TOs in 3 games;

Miami (2) and Minnesota. The only other 2 TOs we've had were a sorry hail-mary INT at the end of the first half against Detroit, and one other one that I can't even remember. That's 3 of our wins.

Bottom line:

The O isn't putting up any points. Keep blaming the D for that if you want to. But it makes no sense.

The D sucks, but hey, we knew it would suck at the beginning of the season.

STs blows too, but they're at least improved over last year. They're still short of average.

Our coaching doesn't know when to run and when to pass.

That about sums it up.

Yeah if you put it all together the O is the least of the problems. Drew had an off game. I he didn't, it would have been tighter - or a win.

We have the 6th ranked O yardage wise and the 7th ranked O points wise.

We have the 20th ranked d yardage wise and the 32nd!!! ranked d points wise.

Which is the problem?

Here are the status of today's game and the only thing that show any difference are the four turnovers. If those turnovers didn't happen but that is a Big (IF) Buffalo probably would've beat New England. So to look at the stats you cannot say our coaches did that bad of a job today. Now if you want to look at somebody to blame I guess the coaching would be the best target. We don't want to look like we hate our team as a whole Do we?

That's it!!!

We gave up 5. We got 0.

That is a little misleading. Buffalo got the majority of their yardage in the 2nd half after the Pats took a big lead and sat back in coverage. At the half the Patriots had 211 offensive yards to the Bills 133, which is more indicative of the game. The Bills piled up a bunch of garbage-time yardage in the 2nd half.

Also, the Pats didn't exactly light the world on fire offensively. Brady was less accurate than usual and penaties took 3 TDs off the board. There was even a missed FG.

The Patriots really didn't play that well, other than their ability to force turnovers. They should have scored many more points and their 3rd-down defense was awful.

The thing is that we just got away from the run. KG is a very good OC, but him getting to big on passing, especially from obvious pass formations, hurt us. All it would take is a HC who puts pressure on him to run more. All it will take is 5% less passing and 5% more running as a percentage of our total plays and it will be hard as hell to play against us.

On D, we just sucked in the first half but were killer in the second. We really need to let it all hang out and be aggressive, and perhaps with some good players this 46 we have will be very good, but I have to see some motivated, agile, mobile, and hostile D for the rest of the year, otherwise Grey will have to go.

4th and 1 on the 20ish, with the score 20-0, once again, the coach calls for Hollis. I lost my voice on that one, it was the only time a yelled! Not that they could hear me from my sucky, freaking seats, but you can't blame anyone but the COACHING for that kind of stupidity. I agree with wys....KG sucks too!

Well, it's the least of our problems from a talent perspective. Obviously something's preventing what on paper should be a powerhouse, and that something is Gilbride. So from that perspective, it's the greatest of our worries from a coaching perspective.

Gray is doing zilch with not a whole lot.

Gilbride has the farm and he's still doing nothing with it.

We have scored 17 or fewer offensive points in 5 of our last 7.

Pathetic! There's absolutely no excuse for that w/ Moulds, Price, Reed, JR, Moore, Henry, Centers, Bledsoe, and a decent OL that is healthy!

MMMmm...peanuts......:hungry:

TDRJ- that's one aspect of your game you are going to have to work on in the offseason, son. Conditioning is a big part of football. You got to be able to handle 2 beers per quarter, and one more for halftime...
