    Keion Carpenter resigned by Falcons

Carpenter agreed to a one-year contract that features a base salary of $540,000. The deal will be signed next week.

While the retention of Carpenter might not seem like a high-profile move for the Falcons, the defense clearly missed his playmaking skills in the middle of the secondary last year, and he remains Atlanta's best ball-hawking safety. Although not particularly fast, Carpenter is a very aware player, and certainly an opportunist.

We could have used another free safety with great hands especially if the Bills play any 3 safety sets but he seemed to have his mind set ar playing in Atlanta.

I think Vick is arrogant and a bit overrated, but he does mean more to his team than any other player in the league.

Why is there a thread dedicated to the signing of Carpenter by another team? Carpenter hasn't played in Buffalo for how long? And from what I remember, I wasn't too impressed with him. If I'm wrong, please help me see the light?

He was actually pretty good..not spectacular, but pretty good..I'd've loved to have him back in Buffalo. Pretty good guy as well...met him the summer Gregghead took over as head coach...I remember when we played the Chargers that year and a Bolts DB took a cheap shot out of bounds at Johnson...Keion had to be held back before he laid the punk out.

Yeah I like Carpenter as well. Was disappointed when we lost him.

I was half expecting Minnisota to sign him . . .
Still searching for that offensive rhythm.

                        1. It is Buffalo Bills and the National Football League
                        2. And I thought he was a damn good safety who preferred to play for Wade Phillips and was one of those who said that it did not make sense to take apart a top defense
