    Ideal Bills drafts?

Note: I am assuming we make the Henry for Shelton deal

    2nd Round:
    TE Alex Smith, Stanford
    Reasoning:
Smith could be the next dynamic TE in this league which is quickly becoming more orienented in running the offense through the TE. We currently have Soup who is a better blocker then pass catcher and Euhus who looked good but I have my doubts about. Smith is in the similar mode of KC TE Tony Gonzalez who is 6'5 251 and Smith is 6'4 255. Is the most dangerous TE in the open field and some would argue he is a better playmaker than Miller, but is still slightly raw when it comes to blocking.

    3rd Round:
    DE Demarcus Ware, Troy
    Reasoing:
Ware is another one of the "undersized" DE's than alot of teams fear in taking, a recent trend that Freeney has helped to get rid of. Ware is one of the best pure pass rushers in the draft and he is not that undersized as many would have you believe only an inch shorter than Tuck and as tall or taller than D. Cody, Pollack, James, and S. Cody. He could use to add some bulk to his frame only at 247. I think he could be one of the best DE's in the class which is saying alot and I dont think he should be moved to OLB in a 3-4.

    4th Round:
    OG CJ Brooks, Maryland
    Reasoning:
Prolly has some of the most potential among the OG this year. Normally he would of been a top 2 round pick had it not been for some inconsistencies in college. He has good size and one of the best first steps ive seen in this class. Lower-Body strength is his key as he can anchor himself in against the bullrush as well as move quick enough to counter pass rush moves and pull on running plays. He has long arms to create the seperation you like in an OL and he is versatile enough to play OT or OG, but he is a better OG prospect. He needs to improve his upper body strength and his techniques but I have little doubt that McNally could improve that.

    5th Round:
    RB Darren Sproles, Kansas State
    Reasoning:
Has amazing speed and is small so he can hde behind OL and wait for holes to emerge, he is extremely elusive and has great hip movement. He doesnt overpower anybody but he will break arm tackles by CB's. He can turn the corner and is a great open field runner. Can catch out of the backfield although he is not the best blocker. He is currenty working on both his kickoff returns and his punt returns. His size scares people off but I like him for a KR/PR specialist who can make plays as a 3rd down back.

    6th Round:
    S Junior Rosegreen, Auburn
    Reasoining:
Living in Georgia I see about 6 SEC games every saturday and with Auburn going undefeated last season I saw nearly every Auburn Game. This kid has amazing talent and is fearless in the back of the defense. He is versatile too as both a SS or FS, although he is a better SS. Is a huge hitter who is not afraid to sacrifice his body to break up a pass or stop a runner. Dont take him the wrong way though he is also a playmaker and will make interceptions from the safety posistion. Doesnt have amazing speed and can be beaten deep if forced to play alot of man-man defense against a faster WR. Rosegreen plays with a mean streak and will lay players out in his wake (ex. Reggie Brown of Georgia.

    7th Round:
    C Richie Incognito, Nebraska
    Reasoning:
Good size, and has decent skills. He's got a good punch and is able to push piles in the running game. He lacks ideal size (6'3 290) but can back up all three OL posistions. He was kicked off his college team last year for unspecified reasons so he is a risk.

so thats my picks what are yours?

FOr the most part I like your draft, especially sproles. There's a guy I'd love to take a chance on in the 5th.

I am not so sure about taking a TE with our first pick. WE are pretty solid there, not great but certainly adequate. The way things stand now we pretty much have to go OL with our first pick. If we can pull of the shelton deal, and TD doesn't want to go OL, I'd actually like to get another DT to add the the rotation. Edwards hopefully will be ok as a starter, but someone needs to fill his spot as the third DT. of course I'm partial to mike patterson but another DT would be good too.

I could seeing us getting a CB too, in case clements bolts.

Here is my only problem with going OL or DL in with the round 2 pick and its the fact that we have a brand new QB who only has 2 wr's and a rb as weapons. I know alot of people are saying that we need to protect Losman 1st but personally I think the OL is fine as really jelled last season and is only a G away from being dominant which is Brooks. I think we need to give JP as much weapons as possible around him. The lack of DT talent after the tier 1 players is scarily bad.

Hey last time I checked Demarcus Ware has moved up a hell of a lot and will not even be near a 3rd round selection and most likely will either be a late first or early 2nd round pick

Ware has moved up and down draft charts and its so hard to figure out where he will go. Like I said this is my ideal draft and I have a feeling he's gonna have a Rian Long like fall most of these mocks you see are just shooting darts in the dark. Rian Long two years ago was talked about being a late 1st round pick and he ended up going to the Titans in the end of 4th. I just think that Ware having to move outside to play for some teams may scare them off, or atleast I hope. Ware is a hard prospect to perdict. We could go DT and take a player like CJ Moseley there instead.

Draftboy, I can see your point, but as much as that line jelled last year, it lost its best player, and he has not been replaced yet. Plus I think we are fine at WR, I think Losman has some options. THe line is, IMO, the most glaring need at this point

But who do you take there is my question? All the good OT's will be gone, OG's we may have an outside shot at Bass but I think he'll be gone, Wikerson is a reach here its really not a good place to go OL.

Well, you could be right about that-which explains my frustration in regards to not signing demulling...if that is the case though, I still would rather get a paterson or quality third DT than a TE. I just think we need a third tackle more than a third TE.

But smith is promising, I wouldn;t think it was a bad pick to draft him.

I completely agree, I am beyond frustration with not getting Demulling or Womack in here. Id love to get Patterson too but I dont think he'll be there at our pick either. Also after him the DT's fall off also. Its a hard situation to be in unless we some how coherse ARZ into swapping 2nds which I personally dont think is gonna happen

I like your draft with the exception of the first pick. All of your picks are pretty much for depth reasons. We also have three (with Peters ; four) TE's so with our first pick I want them to really consider taking Nugent. With no first round pick we need to take the one player who can have an immediate impact on the team. I think back to all of the close games we had where a reliable kicker would have made a difference.

I think Ware, Brooks and Icognito should all be long gone but if we were to pulll that off I'd be happy even though I don't agree with taking a TE.

                            2. Brandon Browner CB/S A perfect fit for what Bufalo needs, someone who can provide depth at safety and come in as a nickel back. He's a versatile playmaker that lacks ideal speed which will cause him to slip into the late 2nd round. This pick will hinge on what the Bills have planned for Clements and whether or not they were able to pick up another O-lineman in FA. Here, I assume Sheldon is a Bill and TD plans for Clements' departure.

                            3. Chris Kamoeatau G A mauler with that mean streak and hustle ability everyone loves in a lineman. This is a guy that could help propel McGahee into the top 5 in a couple years.

                            4. Lofa Tatupu LB Buffalo needs more talent at LB and this guy has the experience and tackling ability to man the middle and the speed and cover ability to man the outside. He'd be great for the special teams too.

                            5. Rob Pettiti T I'm not sure why he has slid, but from what I've seen, he can be a good one. Needs to work on his footwork and his lateral movement to stay in front of faster DE's, but anchors well against the bull rush. He's a one-year project and definately worth a 5th.

                            6. Chaz Williams RB Played QB at Georgia Southern, but has amazing speed and can make people miss. Imagine two guys in the backfield on some third downs who can both run and throw strikes. Can you think of any trick plays for this guy? I can. How fun is that? This is where you can start taking chances on the basis of pure athleticism and I'm willing to bet that this guy can do it all.

                            7. Chad Owens WR If he's still there at the end of round seven, I say pull the trigger on this one. He has uncanny ability to get open at the sticks on third down. He looks like the second coming of Wayne Chrebet and I bet this guy could pose a challenge to Reed in camp and light a fire under his arse.

Yeah I remember Petitti way back when he dominated the DE from Syracuse (can't think of his name right now). I think thats a good late pick although I think he may be ideally on the right side because of the weakness in pass protection and strength run blocking.
