    Matchup shows NFL needs new 'MNF' slate

    T he Chicago Bears' dismal season could serve one purpose this year. It should force the NFL to create a flexible schedule for "Monday Night Football" in 2003.

    The Bears, at 3-9, have no business appearing in prime time Monday against the 7-5 Miami Dolphins. If this terrible match-up can't push league executives over the top, nothing will.
