It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

Matt Jones looks like a great athlete and is a definite "workout warrior." But is he a great football player, and do we need a WR/TE hybrid more than O and D linemen?Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

I think whoever gets this guy will be nothing short of estatic within a couple of years. There are questions about his "commitment", but I think when he sees the $$$ rolling in, and if he is screwing up the other teams defensive game plan, I don't think there will be any "commitment" questions.

Beware of EFS - that is, the Eric Flowers Syndrome - in evaluating guys who weren't all that productive in college, but fly up the draft charts late based on great workouts and that heavy burden of unlimited potential.Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. Jan is right. While I think Jones will be successful, the fact that he is making a position change means its far from a guarrantee. If TD doesn't like the value that is available at #55 in other areas and decides to take a chance on this kid, I support him, but he carries a bunch of IFs.I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

- All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
