Ricky Williams came into the Bears game with 1284 yards its the 3rd quarter and he already has 195 yards. All he needs is 21 more yards and he reaches 1500. Do we know what that means?

The Dolphins owe the Saints a 1st round pick on top of the 2nd rounder they already owe them.

good news for Bills fans.

He's pretty damn good though. They definitely paid for him.

He's a monster. I always liked him. I hate that he's on the Fish. I picked him on several of my FF teams - my favorite being in the Bills vs. Dolphins league I'm in.

But at least they'll be considerably weaker losing another high pick. Now I want us to win out just to hurt the pick we gave the Pats.

Bad News for the rest of the NFL. Miami might have just gave the Saints a couple of Super Bowl rings.

The Saints are good now. Imagine the talent they will pick up with two 1st round picks and 2nd round picks.

I seen this kind of trade before, anyone remember Hershel Walker going to Minny?

The Ricky Williams experiment evened itself out a little bit for New Orleans after Ditka traded away the entire draft for him

They had him for 3 years and then got great rewards in return. They found the right suckers to give up 2 #1's and a #2 for him.

He's good but that's a pretty high price

Cal.................are you sure the 2nd rounder does just not become a #1 if he hits 1500? I did not think they had to give up both?

Yeah, the 2nd rounder was for sure and the other one was a 3rd rounder which became 2nd if he got 1200 and 1st if he got 1500.

By the way, he has got it. He reached 1500.

He is 1 yard short of 1500 now.

Great! The phins won't be getting much help in the draft next season without a #1 or #2. Now Ricky can get hurt!

We don't need any draft help. We're trading you Lucas for Bledsoe.

Guys the 2nd rounder turns into a 1st rounder....The Saints do not get both the 1st and 2nd...

Before the Bears game.....2nd Rder only.
After the Bears game....1st Rder only.

It was well worth a high first rd pick for RW....man, it feels good to say we have the best RB in the NFL.

Romes

yeah, I was wrong. It does not make sense what I said, that the 2 nd was fixed and that what was orignally a third rounder changed, first to a second than a first, since the Dolphins do not have 2 2nd round picks.

WCF, knows more about his teams picks than I would. Either way, now both us and the fins don't have a 1st.

WCF Ricky Williams is an extrordinary RB. To say he is the best in the league is a bit (not sarcastic) of an overstatement. He has an excellent offencive line playing in front of him as well. But in my eyes considering what he has done for Miami, even a 1st and a 2nd rounder would be adequate.

I hope they run him like this the rest of the season. He will be worn down by the playoffs. I am definately not worried about the fins in the playoffs because they are the fins...They always choke.

Halbert

I'd say he's third in the league. Close enough.

guys, the numbers dont lie and right now the numbers say hes the best, and he has the same O-line we had last year.....Who would you say is the best?.....with the exception of...yup thats right, J.NAILS....who has played better than Mikey Williams....are you gonna rest Rickys success on J.Nails?

Im confused. Does the Saints get Miami's next 2 1st round picks?

Phins054
12-10-2002, 12:28 PM
Nope...all they get is our #1. Thats it and thats all. We sent a 6th rounder I believe for Rosenfelds and thats about it. We have better success in the later rounds than with the first rounders anyways. Ricky was essentially our #1 pick last year.

Then how come ESPN says the Saints now get "another" 1st round pick from Miami? Another means 2, don't it?

That clapping you hear coming out of New Orleans is because Ricky Williams reached 1,500 yards Monday night, meaning the Saints get another first-round pick from Miami.

Unless they already got your first round pick in last years draft. So that does make 2 1st round picks for Ricky.

Ricky is one of the best. Yards don't tell the whole story WCF. Holmes has 9 more TD"S and 350 more recieving yards than RW.

they got the 2002 1st rounder, and they will get this year(2003)'s first rounder too. Ricky is good, but can you really say he is better than Preist this year?? I would also put LT above Ricky IMO.

It's all in the opinion of the observer. I'd still take Holmes if I could choose

WCF....................If you want I would like to bet you that the Raiders are going to whip your phins this week. 300 zonebucks?

I dont think they will if Ricky plays like he did on monday...

Ricky still needs to get over 500+ yards to beat OJs 14 game record.

After watching Ricky the last 2 games its hard to believe he only has 1500 yards. 500 of them came in 2 games.

If I stand correct, this is what we traded to get Ricky....

We gave up our 1st Rd pick from this past draft already and traded 4th Rd picks (we got NO 4th & they got our 4th)...then this is what they get the upcoming draft...

Rushing under 1,200 for the season.....3rd Rd Pick
Rushing between 1,200-1,500....a 2nd Rd Pick
Rushing over 1,500......a 1st Rd Pick....again...this is what happened....so we get to keep the top 2 (our own 2nd & 3rd Rd Pick)....again, If I stand correct.

they won't need those 1st round picks anyways.they would only interfere with the salary cap.i have a feeling that they will need to make some decisions in the offseason.

hey clump, did you get it figured out yet???

fabolouspaul
12-10-2002, 01:51 PM
Williams the best? I still would put Marshall and Priest ahead of Ricky.

WCoastFin
12-10-2002, 01:56 PM
Cant Argue with you there paul, but Faulk has been Injury prone all season and P.Holmes hasnt rushed for 2 back to back 200 yd games...these guys you mentioned are probably the 3 best in the league right now in no particular order....although Ricky leads the league in what a RB supposed to do....Run the Ball.

TacklingDummy
12-10-2002, 02:06 PM
Holmes hasn't rushed for 200 yard games because Vermeil is playing it smart and taking him out after the 3rd qtr.

Why risk your All-Pro RB late in the game when its already a blowout. If Miami could blow out some teams they wouldn't be using Ricky in the 4th qtr. either, unless they are stupid.

WCF, Gannon leads the league in passing. Would you say he is the best QB in the NFL?

no one is arguing that ricky isn't one of the best RB's in the league, but i wouldn't call him the best. i got a feeling the pats-fins game is gonna be for a spot in the playoffs...and its in NE.
