Collective Mock: #23 - Seattle Seahawks

Approx every day or so, we'll post a new thread for the next pick. NO TRADING.

You may draft according to who you would take OR who you think they would take...whatever. Please name only one player.

The Seahawks are on the clock with the 23rd pick in the draft.

They could use another solid offensive tackle, but after Barron and Brown, there's no solid first round value here at all. Khalif Barnes might be around at the top of the 2nd round and is no lock as an NFL tackle.

They also could use depth in the secondary, but they did bring in Kelly Herndon and they can address this issue later in this draft.

A pass rushing DE would be nice too, but with Merriman and James off the board, they could do better with this pick.

This would be a nice spot to address a need at OLB. Anthony Simmons was cut just 2 years after signing a big extension with the 'Hawks and Chad Brown is an oft-injured shell of his former self. Here's where they look to get stronger with this pick.

This would be a great spot for one of the top LBs, and in this case, I'd say it's Darryl Blackstock, OLB, Virginia.

Crowder (Channing Chowder??) would be a nice move as well. I also like Kevin Burnett of Tennessee, an athletic OLB who is moving up the draft boards recently. Marcus Spears is still on the board and should also be considered, but I really think one of the top LBs would be a better move for the 'Hawks at this time, especially considering the status of Simmons and Brown.

I think Baas in the first is a reach. I am intruiged by the Channing Crowder thought.

                    Channing Crowder.

I'll go with Channing Crowder also. They need top quality LBs - although a DE/OLB tweener like Pollack isn't out of the question either...
