Approx every day or so, we'll post a new thread for the next pick. NO TRADING.

You may draft according to who you would take OR who you think they would take...whatever. Please name only one player.

The Packers are on the clock with the 24th pick in the draft.

Draft results so far:

Tough call between Darryl Blackstock and S Brodney Pool of Oklahoma. In the end, losing both Sharper and Jue will probably dictate them taking a DB to replace them.

The Packers need to win and win before Favre goes away. This will lead to them picking a player of need in Pool as opposed to the BPA.

DE Marcus Spears - LSU

No way he falls this far but I think the Packers would pick him at this point in the draft.

The Packers need to fill a glaring need at safety, so:

S - Brodney Pool, Oklahoma.

GBs are desperate for a good Safety - Josh Bullocks should fill that role nicely.

Bullocks is better than Poole from what I've read.

Gotta go with S Brodney Poole, Oklahoma.

The Pack has to replace Sharper and Jue immediately and Poole has more experience than J.Bullucks and is more likely to be ready to play right away this season, even though Bullucks is faster and might have the greater upside. Sharper wasn't the fastest guy on the field, but he knew where to go and what to do when he got there--Poole has the potential to be that kind of player as well and he fills a desperate need (if they didn't need a safety who could play right away, I would have gone with M.Spears because of their weakness against the run, but the need at safety is too great IMHO).

So, the Pack has to:

a.) Replace BOTH starting guards (Rivera and Wahle)
b.) Replace the starting FS (D. Sharper) AND his backup (B. Jue)
c.) Get a QB to groom to take over after Favre retires

and they should take a DE with their first round pick?
