QB Tommy Maddox was re-inserted as the starter because the team believes he is the best fit for the offense.
The passing offense is not as crisp or as dangerous with Kordell Stewart at quarterback, and the team bogs down more in the red zone because Stewart does not make decisions as quickly as Maddox.
But Maddox is prone to turnovers, and coach Bill Cowher will not hesitate to go back to Stewart. If he does, the move will last the rest of the season. ...
