How is their schedule so hard? We play every team they play, and instead of Cincy and Houston, they play Cleveland and Tennessee, both teams have worse record than Cincy and Houston.

The media has the Miami bias again. :cynic:

It is the hardest schedule in the league. I of the reasons is we play in the AFC East. But based on last years records we have the hardest schedule. That being said, I don't care what teams records were last year.

Please explain to me how playing against the 4-12 Browns and the 5-11 Titans is harder than the 8-8 Cincy and the 7-9 Texans.

Please explain to me how playing against the 4-12 Browns and the 5-11 Titans is harder than the 8-8 Cincy and the 7-9 Texans. The real difference is that the Dolphins play the Bills (9 wins) twice. And the Bills play the Dolphins (4 wins) twice. Because of that its 4 more wins that they have to face then we have to. The AFC East probably has the harder schedules.

It's their own damn fault. Just because they suck doesn't make their schedule any tougher. There's no handicapping in the NFL. :shakeno:

It is just based on the overall winning percentage for their opponents for last year. If you add up all the wins for Miami's opponents vs. the win of any other team's opponents, Miami has the harder schedule.

Having said that, it means squat. This formula doesn't take into account offseason moves, injuries, improvements etc. Strictly last season's winning percentage.

Yes and I guess we can say lucky Bills, Jets, and Pats too. No cold weather AFC East team comes to South Fla till Nov 13th. We would love to get you guys down for a nice 95 degree, 90% humidity game in Sept. Guess luck works both ways. No matter the weather, the best team will win. i don't understand why there is complaining about WHEN the dolphins play the bills. we play them twice, just like every other year.

the fact that you guys complain about the weather would lead me to believe that you feel you need that extra element to defeat the dolphins.

Nevermind the fact we've played December winters up there the last fifteen+ years.... Finally we get a year down here and you guys complain???

come on....

Just passing on what the NFL network said

The NFL Network reported that the Dolphins will be playing the toughest schedule amongst the 32 teams in the league.

That being said, it means nothing this year.

jaja54
04-14-2005, 07:33 AM
The Dolphins:
1. Play the toughest schedule based on last year's records
2. don't play a division foe at Home until Mid November.
3. have a very early bye week - tough to heal players during stretch run

How is that lucky?

I agree that those Fin Fans predicting such a succesful season are either smoking with Ricky or so far up Saban's rear end that they have lost all sense of reality. I see another below .500 season, and would be happy with a split with each of the division rivals. That would be a great improvement IMO. However, the thread implies that the Fins are LUCKY to play just one cold weather game and that they paid off the league or something ridiculous like that. To me, that's so assinine that it's equivalent to predicting the Fins going 15-1 next season.

It's not, it's really about even...however, last years record means squat going into this year.
The strength of schedule as of right now is useless. How do we know how good New England is going to be or any team for that matter. Look at San Diego, 4-12, then 12-4 the next year. With parity throughout the league, any team can improve dramatically over one offseason.
I can guarantee you one thing, the Dolphins will be much better this year than last year.

Accordingly, Miami has hardest schedule due to win\loss % of opponents from last year, which as someone has pointed out, means nothing this year. Good try, so far the team is buying into what he's preaching, I think the coaching staff he's brought is what's exciting the players, they're the ones who will spend the most time with the players. But if Saban's ways produce a SB like it produced a National Championship..I think the players will put up with Saban's ways. At least he's not on the same level of Tom C. so far. Actually a lot of players are trying to get to Miami, so his Cleveland days as D. Corr. did leave a lot of bridges open. But I must say he's a hard read publicly..He's actually inheriting a pretty talented Miami team, the O is what killed them last year, so that experience may benefit Saban, we had so many injuries, now they're all back, plus what he adds in players, you should see a pretty competitive team. One that can actually beat our rivals in the AFCE..as you saw players return to the team last year, you saw the team beat NE..i.e., on any given sunday..

But you forget the other side of their personalities, they're are also coachable, they don't do interveiws saying as long as the phins pay them, they can see themselves staying somewhere..i.e., W. McGhee...They've restucture contracts to help the fins, so it's a matter of character with those guys, I agree JT has more stock in Saban's system than Zach, but I think Saban also scheme around his players also.
