    Raiders sign phone operator to secondary

    The Oakland Raiders beefed up their depleted secondary Wednesday by signing a cornerback who's been working as a telephone operator the past two months.

    Tony Lukins, who played for New Mexico State and was cut by the Chicago Bears in training camp, joined the practice squad Wednesday.

    The Oakland Raiders moved to bolster their flagging secondary and special teams Friday by signing former Green Bay Packer Darrien Gordon. Gordon, a 10-year NFL veteran who ranks third in the league with 3,601 punt return yards, was waived Tuesday by the Packers.
