it's not posted on www.BuffaloBills.com or any other site. It's false it looks like KFFL was pulling our leg.

KFFL probably got it from Clayton's quick hits and never bothered to verify whether or not is was true by checking an actual news source

I wouldn't mind having Matthews back, given that our 3rd QB situation is iffy at best.

Oh, I don't know...our QB in Europe seems to be doing just fine. I think he will make an excellent 3rd string.

I wouldn't want Shane Matthews to even give advice to my kids on how to blow their noses. That guy is worthless. :shakeno:

Well...let Shane battle it out with the other 2 QBs that are vying for the spots. If he beats them out, then so be it - he deserves to be #3. Somehow, I think this kid in Europe might have better potential though...

I'm a little leary of Kevin Thompson being our 3rd QB. I think he played behind guys like Rashard Carey and Matt Senneca at Penn State - a school not known for developing great QBs - and has already failed with the Browns, Bengals, Vikings and Giants.

If he has improved to the point of beating out Shane Matthews, fine, but I like having Shane in the mix - and fully expect that he, and not Thompson, will be on our opening day roster.

I cannot believe there is an actual thread about us re-signing a third string QB who will not sniff the field this season. What's more unbelievable is that I actually read all the posts on this thread about it. :laughter:

There have been many occasions when teams have had to use their 3rd QBs, and for extended periods of time. I like to have a 3rd guy who at least gives you a chance to win, if and when he is pressed into action.

I guess you're probably too young to remember, but a couple of years ago, the Eagles had McNabb and his backup Detmer get hurt in consecutive games, after which their 3rd guy, Feeley, came in and got them into the playoffs with several key wins. I could find similar examples with a little research.

My point is very basic. If something as unexpected as losing your top two QBs should happen, you are much better off with a QB who can give you a few wins, than a roster filler without a prayer.

I don't have a concern myself. I wanted Shane to come back as #2. Having him as #3 is certainly not a problem. However, as I said, Kevin seems to be doing good right now and gaining experience. If he beats him Shane out, so be it. If not, place him on the PS and give him another year - and we get to keep Shane. I don't know anything about this other guy...Tory, is it?

Jeff Blake was the #3 guy for the Bengals before he took the starting job. Klingler and whoever else they had both got hurt and Blake came in and the team caught fire.
