John Abraham went down with a mcl knee sprain. According to the article, no mention was made as to whether or not the injury is serious.

If it is a severe injury, it would weaken their dline considerably.

I hate to see injuries to other players, but when they're division rivals, a part of me says

I agree with you Northern that if someone is going to get hurt then it mine as well be someone on your next opponent's team.

There may go their pass rush, Shaun Ellis took a big step back last season, and they dont really have any other pass rush guys, that are really dangerous. Still you hate to see injuries.

I say that their D is much worse than ours, especially now. They are very vanilla, just flow to the ball Cover 2, and they give up big plays consistantly. Last year we messed up a lot, but it was because we were trying to go beyond positional assignments in a new D. We are gonna see some good things this season on D. I think we should get in the top 10 in power plays.

Without John Abraham they are screwed. but....maybe not as much as you think. Shaun Ellis is going back to DE where he had a good rookie year and Bryan Thomas is Freeney esq IMO.

Sprained knee sidelines Jets' Abraham

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Associated Press

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. -- John Abraham plans to be in the lineup when the New York Jets open their schedule in less than five weeks.

The All-Pro defensive end sprained his left knee on Saturday. An MRI examination Monday revealed a second-degree sprain of the medial collateral ligament, and the team estimated he will be out four to six weeks.

Abraham thinks otherwise.

"I'm confident I'll be back before the first game (in Buffalo),'' Abraham said. "I'm shooting for the last preseason game or the first game.

"I feel I have enough time to get better. Six weeks is too long; I feel I'll be ready in four weeks.''
