Strengths: Is a good natural athlete with good top-end speed. Has adequate height, long arms and the frame to keep getting bigger. Has very good initial quickness, fluidity, flexibility and body control. Plays under control and is smooth in terms of his cuts as a route runner. Has above average hand-eye coordination. Is able to catch the ball over his head and on the run. Is a decent threat after the catch. Is at his best in space as a blocker. Moves well, takes decent angles, and is a position and wall-off type with a little bit of a mean streak at the POA.

Weaknesses: Is still a bit unpolished. Has a good frame but still needs to add bulk and strength. Needs to improve his lower body strength the most. Has some trouble getting a push in the running game and will get overwhelmed in-line as a blocker on occasion. He is raw as a route runner. Has improved his feel, but still needs to do a better job of reading coverages and finding soft spots in zone. Is a good athlete but not in elite class. Shoulder injury could have long-term affect on his durability.

Overall: Everett transferred to Miami from Kilgore Junior College prior to the 2003 season. He played in all 13 games and finished with nine receptions in 2003. He played in 11-of-12 games as a senior in 2004 and finished with 23 receptions for 310 yards with zero TD's. Everett missed the Peach Bowl (vs. Florida) because of a shoulder injury that required surgery on Jan. 5th. As of when this report was written (March 11, 2005), Everett still had yet to workout because of the injury. Everett has good speed and athletic ability. He also has the frame and tenacity to develop into an adequate blocker in the NFL. However, Everett's senior season was his first as a fulltime starter and, while he has made strides, he still is an unpolished and somewhat unproven prospect. Everett doesn't have the explosiveness or athletic ability of the previous two-standout tight ends that Miami has sent on to the NFL (Jeremy Shockey, Kellen Winslow Jr.,), but he is a notch below those two in terms of overall natural ability. He needs more experience, as well as to get bigger and stronger. Durability and character concerns will also cause him to slip on draft day. In short, Everett has the physical tools to develop into an NFL starter but he is unproven and has several alerts that make him a dangerous prospect to consider in the first two rounds
