every year around draft time do some people have to get all bent out of shape over the picks done by TD before they get to play? It's true, TD and hit and missed with picks, but what GM doesn't? Like every other pick, these guys should be given a chance. The majority are giving Losman a chance and he hasn't really played all that much. People were angry at the Mcgahee pick. We all saw how that turned out. Obvioulsy the old man is not just thinking about now, but ahead into the future with these draft picks.
Roscoe Parrish- I was just sort of surprised he didn't go after Alex Smith, but this guy has speed and good hands. Given the regression of J. Reed, we needed a guy to push him or else replace him. He'll make a good slot receiver and might even be a factor in the return game. I could see him returning kicks alongside T-Mcgee. I could also see him taking up punt return duties. He has no problem going over the middle and he'll take a hit. There's nothing wrong with getting J.P another weapon. I heard Randy Mueller saying he was nothing more than a return specialist. The same was said about Deion Branch of NE. Parrish can play receiver.
Kevin Everett- He was rated the 3rd best TE in a weak class. In fact, he had a close rating to Alex Smith, but a bit slower. I've seen him in some games, and he's done a solid job of playing TE. With our TE situation up in the air, we needed a guy who could step right in there and possibly start. He might even get thrown in there and replace campbell as the starter. He gives losman a good targetr with his size. Once again, TD is trying to give losman another target.
Note-Our offense was ranked 25th last season. As good as our running game was, I think everyone would like to get more out of the passing game.
I'm not praising TD just yet. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. If these guys turn into busts, then he needs to take the heat. I think they'll address OL in the 4th round. Also, if they haven't drafted a DT, then it indicates they are extremely comfortable with Edwards, Anderson and Sape as tackles.
