Not if he is doing a 3-4 defense. And you really should have 4 Safeties anyways. That's great depth.

I like your offense. I do think you took Bennett too high, I am not sold on him by any means. I like your backs, I think Kreider is a huge asset. You should have a good balance on offense.

Your Front 7 on D is great! With the exception of Barrett and Grant I think your secondary is thin. Obviously you have one of the better return men in Rossum. Overall you should do well but will probably come up short against the pass, but should dominate against the run.

Thanks man. I think i might have taken Bennett too high too, but I loved what he did last season. He impressed the hell out of me and he's only 27 this year too. Besides, if he struggles...I could always cut him at the end of the year and go with the cheaper receivers. That's why I went for other young starters. Kreider was the one that I wanted the whole time. He's only 28 this year and he's a solid blocker. I grabbed Jordan mainly for the future. If he does as well as I think he will do this year...he will make great trade bait or even my new starter. I started out by making it a passing team, but then I got the backs to help me have a balanced offense. That's what I was going for.

As for my defense...that's what I was going for. My front 7 should have no problem with the run. My secondary worries me a bit, but I think that Baxter may actually push O'Neal for the starting job and i really like what I've seen from Kiel so far. Barrett was actually the one that I really like. I think he'll have a damn good season, but I still feel that I don't have enough INTs among my defense. Either way, my DL and LBs should help to force the QBs to make stupid throws.

Thanks for the comments.

Well, to start off...I'm still not sold on David Carr. Maybe it's because he doesn't have much weapons in Houston. In which case, you gave him a nice set. I like your receivers. If I were you, I'd try to hold onto Branch. He makes your set complete.

Steven Jackson was a good future pick, but I thought it was a reach. He still is not getting ALL the carries in St Louis. Faulk will still be getting some. Lorenzo Neal is a damn good FB and a pro bowler. He should help pave the way for the Bus and Jackson. Good choice. Your OL is solid, especially the interior. Jolley is an interesting choice, but I just don't like him and think that the Jets gave up too much for him.

Like me, you have built a solid DL and even LB crew. Your CBs were injured last year and that will hurt you. I'm not high on any of them, except Azumah and that's mainly because of his return ability. But your safeties are scary. I'm a huge fan of Ed Reed and also like what I saw out of Wilson last year. Good pickup.

Overall, you are building a pretty good team. Your offense is balanced nicely. I think that your pass defense will struggle a bit, but the pass rush will help to force the QB into making mistakes. Your run D looks pretty solid.

I like McGee but stats for cornerbacks are very overrated. If a CB is good he probably wouldn't have many PDs because they wouldn't throw to his side a ton. Just look at Clements on the other side of McGee he had just 7 pass deflections.

That's a solid D...

Although I'm pretty sure it won't matter in the sims, the thign that sticks out to me is that Strahan is a horrible fit for a 3-4 D. he's a clasic 4-3 end. BUt like i say, this game won't care anyway.

Secondary looks very good.

I actually think he'll be perfect for the 34. The reason is his ability to stop the run very well. He's not going to get as many sacks as he use to but alot of those sacks were caused by his strength and not his speed and quickness or lack there of. Thanks for analysis.

Ogden, Plummer, Birk, Akers, Maynard and Simmons are basically you're only older guys. Thats a heck of a young team you got there.

A young team is exactly what I wanted to put together, so I've done quite well for myself. Like I've said numerous times before, I really don't care about the short term. Due to their youth, I'm sure I will lose more than I win to start. Big deal. As my team matures, espcially my young and very talented defense, things will start to click then. Like I said before, I'm happy w/ what I've put together here, and I'll judge them a season or two down the road to see if my moves have panned out.

I actually think he'll be perfect for the 34. The reason is his ability to stop the run very well. He's not going to get as many sacks as he use to but alot of those sacks were caused by his strength and not his speed and quickness or lack there of. Thanks for analysis.

It's not his lack of run stopping skills.... It's that by putting him in a 3-4 you take away what he does best... which is rush the passer. like buying a hummer to plow your driveway.... sure you can do it... but...

like i say, it won't matter int he sim i bet....he'll still get his sacks. In real life iw ould neverput him in a 3-4.... wasting his talent... but here, it looks good.

Very good young team... might take a couple seasons to be a contender though.... still should be competitive now though.... the only thing that really stands out to me are your WR's.... young talent galore... but you'll need them to have some good years to make an impact.

I think i may have tried to toe the line between good now and build for the future too much... shoulda gone young like you.

I disagree. As I stated Strahan is alot more about strength then he is speed. I think he would do well in real life in the 34 defense because of his ability to stop the run as well as use his strength to rush the passer.

unless you run a hybrid 3-4/4-3 you can't do both.....

3-4 DE's almost exclusively stop the run and keep blockers off the LB's that are rushing the passer or making plays.... he can't rush the passer AND block for the LB's....

They do it a good amount but they don't do exclusively. He would get 10 sacks imo if the Giants ran the 34.

Yours sucks!

Nah, not really. Seriously, your team is not bad. It looks like everyone has done a pretty good job of getting quality all across the board with a couple exceptions, who have loaded up in some spots and are thin in others.

You have a good team, some young talent mixed with some older talent. Your Special Teams is solid. Your Defense is pretty scary, except for your LBs. With Fields being out for the year, you only have him for this year and then he'll have no stats for next year. Sharper is okay, but starting to show his age IMO. I love your DL and secondary though. Very nice.

As far as your offense, you have a strong OL and some good backs to run behind it. Carson Palmer is young, but improving each year and will be a very good QB IMO. Your receivers could use some help. Boldin is good, but he struggles to stay healthy. Lelie is a nice young starter. Drummond won't do much for your WR crew and Patten is also injury prone lately. Overall, you have a good team. You should make the playoffs this year based on your defense, but your offense could pull you down.

Your skill positions are decent. Rudi Johnson is okay, McNabb is good, and Coles and Bennett are good WRs. Your TEs are good, but I wonder how often you'll use them seeing how many WRs you have.

Your OL is not bad either. Fraley is a nice, underrated center while Manuwai is a solid guard. He was on my original "dream sheet" of players to draft. Your other OL are solid, if not spectacular.

The DL looks okay, but you're going to have to hope for consistency from Sims and Hayward. If they bring it every day, you're good to go.

I like the starting LBs, especially Leber, but the depth is shaky.

The secondary is okay.

Reed is a good kicker and your return game should be good to go w/ Rossum and Parker.

Overall, not bad. You still have holes to fill, but there's no reason you can't compete right away. Your team isn't nearly as awful as mine.

Thanks for the comments. My offense is going to be a total mixmatch. We'll have the power running game featuring Rudi Johnson, Dan Kreider, and Jerame Tuman. plus, we'll also have a 5 wide set and 2 TEs, 3 WRs set. Our identity is really a balanced offense, but I see what you are saying about having those 3 solid TEs when I already have 5 good WRs.

My LB depth is the main thing that scares me on my defense, but I really like Thornton and Smith. I also am planning on grabbing one more ILB. My secondary also bothers me a bit, but I think it will come together nicely.

Thanks for the comments. I wasn't going to keep Fields next year anyway so I'm fine with his pro bowl #s for a year. I think my LB core is actually a strength. Porter, Fields and Sharper are all pro bowl players even with Fields and Sharper getting up there. I like my WRs especially since I waited a while to draft 1. Lelie had over 20 YPC.. Patten over 18 YPC.. Boldin is the big possession type guy. I like Palmer but I don't really want him to do too much. I want to mainly run the ball with Jones and Brown behind my offensive line and have my defense shut down teams with help from my special teams led by Drummond, Sauerbrun and Graham. I'll look to fill future picks in the last remaining rounds and in 1st round of the draft with my 2 picks.
