Donahue to evaluate everyone
Even though team president Tom Donahoe is encouraged by the Buffalo Bills' progress, he isn't guaranteeing anyone's job security _ including coach Gregg Williams. Donahoe said any changes the team might make will be determined in his annual end-of-season meeting with Bills owner Ralph Wilson. "We'll sit down and evaluate everything. This year isn't any different than any other year,'' Donahoe said Monday. "We're committed to getting this thing turned around. We're making progress, but we still have more work to do and we recognize that." Williams has one more season left on a three-year contract. His status has been questioned despite the Bills' 7-7 record, a significant turnaround from last year's discouraging 3-13 finish, the franchise's worst since 1985. Donahoe's evaluation will carry plenty of influence. He took over in January 2000, following John Butler's dismissal, and hired Williams a few weeks later as Wade Phillips' successor. The Bills, in large part due to the offensive impact generated by last April's acquisition of veteran quarterback Drew Bledsoe, might be significantly improved this season, but the Bills' defense has struggled.
