    I'm drawing a blank...

Whose that FB (i think) that was with the Patriots and got a serious injury at the pro bowl (i think) and no one thought he could play football, but had a return with the Dolphins and did very well...

I'm drawing a blank on his name and what happened to him...Some help would be appreciated.

Yes, it was Robert Edwards. He was a half back. He actually made played a season for the Dolphins (mostly special teams) for a year after his comeback.

Yeah...that was the guy...nasty injury. He was playing in the rookie beach bowl as part of the Pro Bowl week festivities...Kelly was the coach for the AFC...he took a bad twist and was in pretty bad shape...they stopped having the beach bowl after that.

Why isn't he still playing? I remember him doing pretty good with the Phins.

maybe no one had enough confidence in him to be a fuill-time player again...or maybe he found something else. I'm sure he could find a spot back in the league..I wouldn't mind seeing him in Buffalo as a backup

I wished he was still with the phins. He should have won ocmeback player of the year but Tommy Maddox went off that year and beat him out. He was Ricky's primary backup until about four or five games in and they switched to Travis Minor. I think the thinking was to have a change of pace back. Edwards was too much like Ricky I guess. At leas,t that is what Dave "suck ass" Wannstedt thought.

I think people just wrote him off. It was a brutal injury. Not only did he tear the ACL, MCL and menisicus, but he ruptured the main artery in his leg. Another 15 minutes and they would have had to amputate. They told him he would never walk the same again, if at all without help. He made it all the way back. I guess he just couldn't stay there...

He came within a hair of getting the leg amputated if i recall. The injury was that bad.

I think I read that he is going to be playing in the CFL and he was an RB by the way not a FB.

Yes, he is trying out to play in the CFL.

Basically, he lost his burst and isn't as good as he was before the injury. Though he did play pretty well as a backup in Miami, he isn't going to play ST so he probably isn't going to get an NFL job.

i know more than a few miami fans that really liked him.. and from everything that i saw.. he should have been absolutely kept over minor.

I don't think Flutie could be classified as an NFL rookie that year..it actually might've been Manning
