I just got a text message from the Bills. It's pretty cool.

V-COACH BILLS:
The Ticket Office has confirmed the sale of over 43,000 season tickets. At this point last year, the Bills had sold just over 40,000.

I know it is a good thing, BUT, if this team continues it's .500 season pace- the organization will never be forced to go for it all since they have what they want the ticket support. I'm not saying don't buy tickets- I just hope their goal is to win super bowls and not just sell tickets.

Sadly you're right FreddyvsJason. While I think Ralph wants to win, Tom Donahoe has shown he can make the organization money, but hasn't shown he will 'do what it takes' to make the Bills a winner. And if he has 'done what it takes' in his mind, it just hasn't been good enough...

If they start winning and get to the playoffs, i could see the season tickets going over 50,000 easily.

Believe me, TD is trying to win. He knows the only way a small market team can be financially successful over the long haul is to win, and he knows that ultimately his job depends on it.

They'd have sold waaaay more tickets by now if they were out on Long Island. :ill:

I'm not suggestion Tom Donahoe is trying NOT to win. Of course he's TRYING to win, it's his job. Whether he puts the team's finances and bottom line ahead of winning is another story.

I'd rather see the team competitive and stay in Buffalo, than win a Super Bowl and move to LA three years later

I had a dream last night that the Buffalo Bills where the 2007 Superbowl champions. We beat the Minnesota Vikings.

used to hold 80,000+ and be one of the largest stadiums in the league.. now, after the renovations, it holds mid 70's

They renovated in '99. Added suits, seatwarmers, cupholders, etc.

I think the stadium seats like 73,000 - 74,000 now. Largest crowd ever was just over 80,000 against the Phins in 1992 (I think), but I could be wrong on the year; it was def during the Super Bowl run though. In 1991 the Bills even broke the NFL record for attendance in one season...

The place still gets loud, but not as much. I still remember my first game ever. 1991 opener against Miami. Came back and won 35-31... I was nine years old and thought it was the loudest place on the face of the earth.

I'd actually have to think about that one! I want a Super Bowl very badly.

Super Bowl - no question.

"I would rather die of thrist than drink from the cup of mediocrity."

Oh, and I'm glad I signed up for Bills V-Coach to get up to the minute reports on the number of Season ticket sold. I am anxiously awaiting the day I see that the Bills have confirmed sales of 45,000 season tickets.

I think the number is actually higher. On the day that Clump and I went to get the tickets for the Zone for the home opener there were no seats available in the endzones. I doubt they sold that many tickets that quickly. I wouldn't doubt the number is more like 50,000.

They also took away seats in the upper deck to help sell out more. We will never reach the attendence levels we used to have. They ought to make those "overflow seats" which would be sellable when the Bills sell out but league rules prohibit it.
