Sounds like it was Saban's call in the end of whether Spielman remained the GM of the Phins for the duration of the season.

The decision to bring Feeley to MIA was probably the reason that Speilmans tenure was in jeopardy going into last season as well as the problems with Boston and his eventual season ending injury.

The straw that broke the camels back would have to be Ricky Williams retiring and the mid-season resignation of Wanny.

I loved the guy...He always made awful deals. Trading a third for an Lamar Gordon, trading a second for Feeley....

I could go either way with it. His trades left something to be desired. Not so much the Feeley one, but the Gordon one had me baffled as did the trading of a fourth rounder two years ago to move up one space and nab Carey, who looks like he may be a backup...again. He did find some nice college players that have contributed greatly for Miami in the later rounds. Tony Bua, Derrick Pope, Rex Hadnot etc.

I wouldn't have minded if he had stayed on as director or college scouting or something similar, but I am not broken up about him leaving. Saban has all the power and had stripped Rick of all the fun stuff probably. Spielman is young and has some talent in spotting other talents so he will surface again in the league. Probably the worst thing that could have happened was Ricky retiring on him and being tied to Wannstedt. I wish him luck.

That's bad news for Bills fans. He sucked as dolphins GM, let's just hope he gets replaced with someone as incompetant but I'm skeptical on that one.
