i have dish network and when i tried to watch the scrimmage on saturday morning on empire...it was blacked out. did anybody else have this problem?

I can't explain why, although I know some of the pre-season telecasts on regional sports networks (even those which are just repeats) are blacked out as well...

too expensive for 4 tvs dozer....plus i rent an apartment...not worth owning a dish...

I'm watching the scrimmage now...

Jennings looks good at LT. Sullivan at RG looks lost...Jerry O better get healthy quick!!!

Teague looks a little shakey at center. I wonder if they'll move him to LT and try Jennings at center next time?

I think it has something to do with territorial rights and pre-season.

Essentially, when you pay for Sunday Ticket, you're compensating the NFL and the home team (in my case, the Broncos) for being able to watch a game involving a team outside your market, and the money is to offset the ratings loss the games televised on-air would generate.

However, the pre-season games aren't part of that package, so I presume it is up to the discretion of the local team controlling the rights to the area to black it out or not and to force you to watch the Jets or Giants or national coverage in order to see football until the season starts...
