He was rated right between Chris Rix and the Randall from VaTech in one draft guide I was looking at. Not bad, but not a "name" like those guys or Berlin and Chang, who were also rated on about the same level. I think most of the QBs who were ranked right around him ended up signing as UDFAs.

teams don't have many spots for QBs, QBs get drafted with the intent of putting them on the roster and eventually playing them. guys who are decent but have holes that need overcoming are too risky to have playing, and they lose out to "safer" candidates.
