Up until a few years ago there were signs all around B-lo that had the talking proud logo on it.

Didn't "Talkin' Proud" come out around 1980? They played the song on TV all the time...catchy tune. It was Buffalo's "feel good" campaign to makeover the city's image to outsiders, who negatively perceived it as nothing more than the snow capital of the US.
I never owned a "Weeny Wammy", though.

I think you're right. It was in the early 80's. I was a kid going to games with my father, and I had my wammy! Dad had a beer in his hand.

THAT'S IT! That's the tune! great job!
And I still have a Wammy Weeny, a large GREENbanana shaped plastic weiner with beebees in it that rattle when you give the Wammy to the other team. I think they recalled them because kids were breaking them, and choking on the beebees.
Now I have a beer in my hand

I thought the reason they stopped making them was because the paint was toxic to kids. That and "whammie weenie" was kinda gay.

The "Talking Proud Buffalo" can still be see on the corner of street signs on Seneca St. Cazenovia and Seneca I think.

How about the "Bad Buffalo Blanket" after the terrible towel was big?

I know his name is poison around here, but I still remember the chant" The Juice, the Juice, the Juice is on the loose..."

Yes, they stopped distributing them as the yellow paint on them contained lead. (Until they changed it)

They were for the 1980 opener. The idea was to point the thing at the fish, to "Put the Whammy on Miami!"

                              It worked.

                              I still have mine.
