NFL unveils program to promote minority hiring

The NFL will begin a program to promote diversity in league hiring practices, including modifying a rule to allow assistant coaches on playoff teams to interview for head coaching positions.

The new rule to give more opportunities to minority candidates will go into effect immediately, the NFL said Friday.

Civil rights group wants stiffer penalties

    Monday, December 23
NEW YORK -- The civil rights group that helped initiate the NFL's recent push for minority hiring believes the league's new policy should have stiffer penalties.

Last week, the NFL instituted a policy requiring teams to interview minority candidates for coaching vacancies.

The civil rights group believes teams not conforming to the policy should face stiff penalties, such as forfeiting or voluntarily surrendering draft choices.

If someone isn't qualified for the job (any job) .... then the employer shouldn't be forced to hire him/her.

Well, I don't think there is a lot of owners who want to go througth what the PACKERS had to go through firing a Black HC!! Every Black leader in the DAMN country was in GB when Ray Rhodes was fired!!

The BIG market teams may not have to worry about going througth the HELL, but the smaller market teams are already known a RACES towns!
          Spelling and Grammer IS overrated!!
