If you could take one former Bill in his prime and put him on this roster who do you think could help them the most (besides Jim Kelly) considering the strengths and weaknesses of the team?

Norwood was a far better kicker than Christie.. but your vote for the Oakville boy is touching. :peace:

I could think of more than just one:

Kent Hull because we have no blocking.

Norwood, Christie, or any other Kicker because we are stuck with Lindell.

Bruce Smith because we have no pass rushing.

Pete Metzelaars because we have nothing but injury-prone TE's

Jamie Mueller. I liked timing him coming out of the backfield with a sundial.

Good post bro.

As much as I would want to say Bruce Smith, I gotta go with Kent Hull.

Torn between Bruce and Kent, something current management doesn't get.

You wouldn't take Flutie in his prime right now?

Dude was a conniving little ***** in the end, but he had a point - on the field he was a winner and was winning. Even as definitive coordinators successfully learned how to contain and defend him, Flutie still had tremendous abilities as a game manager. He contributed greatly as a terrific field general who seemed to never get flustered. The entire team performed more crisply with him behind center. His regular appearances on MNF Prime Time Halftime significantly slowed as time went on, but he did a ton of the little things that will eat away at a victory.

Right about now an image is forming in many people’s minds of me as a Flutie-lover, and all the whacked out stuff that rides with that.

Well, save it. I could care less about Flutie. He was no Kelly overall, but when it comes to being the man and taking control of the mental aspect of everything that’s going on in a game, Doug could have schooled Jim.

You gotta acknowledge greatness where it exists and for Flutie that was his.

He definitely left a bad taste in my mouth the way he poisoned the team after his demotion. But if I could insert Flutie right now in his prime, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Tom Sestak to fill Pat Williams' spot on defense, and Joe Devlin on offense.

Ted Washington in his prime. GOD what a immovable force we would be with that bulk in the middle.

Runner up is Bruce.....he took over games. And the tackles today aren't as good as they were back then.

Second runner up is Andre Reed. Dude was money and would be a great compliment to Moulds and Evans.

Best team need would be Kent Hull, but Bruuuce & Schobel man would that be a mean D-line. Who were our guards in the early 90's?

Other than Kelly, I'd say Thurman. As much as WM looks like a winner, I don't know that he will become the multifaceted dominating threat that TT was in receiving, running and blitz pickups. If TT wasn't on the team, we don't get to 4 SBs IMO.

To quote Bill Parcells when he was with the Jets (reportedly kidding with TT on the field during warmups): "Why don't you just retire already? You're too much of a pain in the butt."
