A very weak class and so far not much to say on my top two RB's, no sure fire First rounders though except maybe Suggs.
2003 RB Draft Class
1. Lee Suggs-Virgina Tech 6-0 201 lbs.
Imjured last season. Holds the school record for rushing touchdowns. Was 2000 Big East Player of the Year. Can he come back from a torn ACL?
2. Earnest Graham-Florida 5-9 215 lbs.
In 9gms last year ran for only 650 yards but had 9 TD's, this is not a 1st round guy, and the class is very weak. Will the loss of Mike Pearson hurt Graham ability and can he get over his almost inevitable knicks and dings he gets during the season.
3. Dontae Walker-Missipi State 5-10 225 lbs.
Walker is finally getting his first season at complete starting tailback. Last season he split the load with now departed RB Dicenzo Miller. He carried the ball 136 times for 676 yards and 5 TD's. He averaged 4.0 ypc, and had a long run of 25 yards. He struggled through a knee injury last season, and must recover quickly to take over the full load. He looked very strong and physical in spring practice, and shows flashes of returning to his sophmore form of 795 yards and and a 5.4 ypc avg.
4. Dahrran Diedrick-Nebraska 6-0 225 lbs.
Diedrick is returning after having the best season of his career at Nebraska. He led the Big 12 in rushing yards 1,299 yards in 11 gms, which actually happens to be very impressive since his QB (Eric Crouch) ran for 1,115 yards. You dont usually see a good RB with numbers when you got a QB who runs like Eric did. Dahrran had 15 TD's, and a 5.6 ypc avg. in 233 attempts. He averaged 118.1 ypg. Dahrran is a power running back and this season figures to share the load with fellow senior Thunder Collins more of a breakaway threat. So if Diedrick's numbers seem to fall off this season, it is because he will be splitting time.
5. Dwone Hicks-Middle Tennesee 5-11 225 lbs.
Hicks is undoubtely the best RB in the Sun Belt confrence and he has the numbers to back it up. In the past 2 seasons he has rushed for 2,420 yards and 39 TD's. Amazing numbers for a small school kid. He averaged 1,210 yards per season and 19.5 TD's. Hes a power running back but with lack of competition? The early part of this season will tell that tale. Middle Tennessee has to play Alabama, Tennessee, and Kentucky before it plays its confrence opponents.
Remeber before I get blasted for not putting this guy in here or not this is only the rating of seniors. and Yes I know its early but this is what I love to do.
