He's the 4th rated AFC RB in yards, and 4th in the NFL.

He only trails 5 AFC backs in number of carries and 1 NFC RB in carries.

Here are the stats:

--------------Carries Yards APC

Clinton Portis, DEN 237 1228 5.2
Priest Holmes, KAN 313 1615 5.2
Travis Henry, BUF 275 1312 4.8
Ricky Williams, MIA 337 1601 4.8
Fred Taylor, JAC 269 1224 4.6
LaDainian Tomlinson, SD 331 1485 4.5
Curtis Martin, NYJ 217 905 4.2
Jamal Lewis, BAL 273 1141 4.2
Antowain Smith, NWE 219 881 4.0
Corey Dillon, CIN 283 1132 4.0
Amos Zereoue, PIT 162 635 3.9
Jerome Bettis, PIT 161 600 3.7
Edgerrin James, IND 252 890 3.5
Eddie George, TEN 297 974 3.3
William Green, CLE 196 653 3.3

Deuce McAllister, NOR 282 1245 4.4

Yup...Gilbride doesn't know what he's doing. He has the 4th rated RB in the league and there are only 6 other RB's with more carries. Henry should have at least 400 carries

He'd be first if Gibride woke up & smelled the coffee before week 8

Gilby does need to run more, just in the right situations, but he only needs a slight adjustment, like say 5 less passes, 5 more runs a game.

AWM, Henry may be 7th in carries, but as a team we're 29th in rushing attempts. Says alot , doesn't it?

Not really. Drew has never been a rushing QB and Centers has never been a rushing FB. Both are pass orientated players. Considering we are a one dimensional running team (Henry) our numbers are quite impressive.

What the hell is a one demensional running team? Isn't running the ball one demension? :dizzy:

29th in rushing attempts just shows that we're not running enough! Teams use more than one RB in alot of cases...And how does Travis have the same YPC as RW and not have the same amount of yards? He needs more carries!

A one dimensional running team is when you have the 4th leader rusher in the league with the 6th highest number of carries and you still are rated as the 29th in the league in running plays. What's so hard to comprehend about that???

We run Travis and noby else. That's ONE DIMENSIONAL.

As for Ricky vs Travis....you totally ignore the fact that Miami had no passing game almost the entire season due to injuries. Of course they have more yards and carries. They were starting 3rd string receivers and had Ray Lucas as a QB ......

There have been games that Henry should've been over 200 yards...

What confuses me is how Gilbride goes...
1st down: Henry 7 yard run
2nd down: Pass incomplete
3rd down: pass incomplete

That has happened alot this season.

And Henry has been our only form of offense the past weeks. Ricky Williams has had Jay back there lately.

I dont understand your argument that we're a "one demensonial" running team...That just supports me saying thats why we're 29th in the league in rushing attempts.

Who do you suggest we run the ball with? Larry Centers?

For the last time....Larry Centers is a PASS CATCHING FB. He is not a running back.

One thing to keep in mind as well...Ricky ran for 200++ yards against two of the worst run D's in the league....Us and the Bears. As a matter of fact, we helped pad the running stats of every team we played against. If Ricky had played against "average" defenses those two games, he would have 1400 yards instead of the 1600 he has.

The Bears defense is "average."

My argument is not run the ball with more people, AWM. It's give the ball to Henry. I dont see where I said that

I think Henry gets all these rushing yards because of how the opposing defenses respect the pass. He is a good back, but hes not on the same level as Ricky, Tomlinson, Holmes, etc.

YUP!

The million dollar question is what is he smelling now?

I mean how on earth do you explain giving it to Henry only 15 times prior to the last 3 minutes of 4th Q last week while Drew dropped back 32 times. It's a good thing that we won or fans would have been calling for his head immediately following that game. It made no sense whatsoever.

I don't care what Gilbride does, if he couldn't see thru last week, I just don't trust the guy. Get rid of him now before he costs us next year too. Besides, it's not like he has a long and storied history of playoff success. To the contrary.

iceblizzard, having a good passing game doesn't help you break tackles and run people over which is what Travis Henry does best.

If you don't think Travis is at the same level as those other RB's, then I don't think you've watched many Bills games this year.

Hasn't Moulds been running a few times in the last 2 games? Or was I seeing things?
