ha - ours are alphabetized, although we don't have nearly that many- I'd guess 75-100 but I've never counted.

We have started breaking down our collection by genre: family, comedy, action, scifi, drama, classics, thrillers, and the private collection. We gave up the ABCs about 3 years ago.

What a ****** waste of money!

You'll probably only watch 90% of those movies once. If at all!

One of you wackos bought Hitch? HUH! 3.99 at blockbuster, watch it once and be done with it. In 3 years, Hitch will be on TBS and HBO about once a month.

Only buy classics, your all time favorite movies and tv series.

600 and 1000 DVD's! Just say you spent an average of $12 on each. (at least until you tell me that you've got some kind of deal) and we're talking $7,200 to 12,000.00! My gawd! It makes me sick! Go get HBO for $15 a month and you'll always have movies!

actually HBC is usually much neater than I am, but I'm the one who alphabetizes my DVD's. My CD's are alphabetized too, for the most part. If I don't do it, then I have to look through the whole damn collection and it takes forever to find the one I want.

Lately we've been getting a lot of PPV movies from DirecTV. We have a TiVo, so we can pause and rewind the movies, and it automatically saves anything purchased over PPV. I keep the good ones on there for a few months- right now I have Saw and The Village (50 cent special!).

but then you're stuck watching movies when HBO decides they should be on, and if you're not home much during that month it's a waste of $15- that can add up to the same as those DVD's over time. Unless you have a TiVo- then it solves these problems.

Hey, I don't care if you waste your money! Go right ahead.

And it'll take 55 years of HBO to spend $10,000 on the service! Plus I get 6 HBO's for my $15 a month.

But like I said, if you guys want to spend $15 on Hitch, be my guest.

Just giving my opinion. I'm a cheap bastard!

Go get HBO for $15 a month and you'll always have movies! How often do you go to the theater to see movies? It cost more for just me and my wife to go to the movies(let alone our 2 kids) than it does to buy a DVD. And you can only watch the movie once. If I want to wait 8-10 months to see a movie, I will get HBO. If I want to see the same 5 movies over and over every day for 2 weeks, I will get HBO. Thanks for your concern though.
