    Nice little JP article.

In one corner of the Venice High School football field stands a pole holding up a horizontal bar where a young J.P. Losman would practice throwing passes.

No one seems to know who erected the pole at the southern California high school or why, but the goal in this drill was to have Losman get the ball to arc just above the seven-foot-high bar, forcing the quarterback to throw tight spirals with a classic over-the-shoulder style.

Losman would spend countless hours at this. The better he got, the closer he moved in to refine his accuracy, developing what has become a strong, effortless - and quick release - motion.

"It's pretty funny," Losman recalls. "It's just this weird bar in the corner of our football field that looks completely out of place and should not be there. But it definitely paid dividends for me."
