    Dolphins safety Williams arrested

    Off the AP wire ....

DAVIE, Fla. (AP) … Miami Dolphins safety Quintin Williams
was arrested on DUI and drag racing charges Thursday after he
was stopped while driving 111 mph on an interstate with
    teammate and passenger Travares Tillman.
Williams was near the team's practice facility in Davie,
Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Bill Ferrell said. Troopers also
pulled over a car that had been racing Williams. Troopers then
approached Williams' car and suspected he might have been
    drinking, Ferrell said.
After a roadside DUI test, Williams was taken to a Broward
Sheriff's Office facility where his blood-alcohol level was
.087 percent, above Florida's legal limit of .08 percent,
    Ferrell said.
Williams was charged with DUI, racing on a highway and
unlawful speeding, Ferrell said. He did not know if Williams
    remained jailed.
The driver of the other car, Brandy Lynn Richards, was
charged with unlawful speeding and racing on a highway because
she was going 109 mph on the interstate, Ferrell said. Tillman,
who was riding with Williams, was not charged and allowed to
ride home with Richards, who was cited but not arrested,
    Ferrell added.
Ferrell said Richards identified herself as a Dolphins
cheerleader to a supervisor on the scene of the traffic stop,
but team spokesman Harvey Greene said a person by that name was
    not a Dolphins cheerleader.

Tillman is a projected starter in their D-Backfield and he suffered a knee injury at the end of their OTAs last month.

Well, Williams is as goos as gone. For someone who was an undrafted FA ( I believe ) to do something so incredibly stupid and dangerous deserves to be cut. I wonder what Tillman was doing. I imagine he was too drunk to drive and that Williams said he was fine to drive. He probably gets away with it if he doesn't drag race.

Nonetheless it was stupid and dangerous and he should be cut as soon as Saban can. Tillman is supposed to be one of our captain's. I will be really interested to see how Saban reacts to this news, beyond the usual press release.

Have to agree, and Tillman's a bigger one for not stopping Williams..We may sign Lance and cut Tillman for real now.

How incredibly stupid, with your career - and all that money - on the line.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

That's what gets me about all these athletes, they get paid incredible money to do what we've done since being a kid, and they take all kinds of chances to lose it...i.e., K. Winslow, this kid and Tillman, the Minny RB, and on and on. I remember being in the military, and you couldn't take drugs or you're out..we were afraid of losing our jobs and they didn't pay a 1/4 of what these guys make.

If these guys would just learn to take a taxi or limo, it would take care of half their problems.

Well, Williams was as good as gone before this happend. I wouldn't be suprised to see Quintin released right away.

As for Tillman, I don't know what Saban will do with him. Schulters looks like a strong possibility now.

Lance Schulters is a better player than Tillman anyway. This is a perfect opportunity for the fins to cut Tillman, and with a good excuse.

Yeah, I think he was a 2nd rounder and a bust.
