Jags situation could be Taylor-made for Henry/Mike Williams Cap Relief Soon?

The Jacksonville Jaguars should know in a month whether they have a big problem at running back.

Injured star Fred Taylor is scheduled to intensify the rehabilitation work on his injured knee in the next couple of weeks. If it responds well, the Jaguars are set at the position and will be feeling good about making a serious run for a playoff spot this season. If it doesn't respond well, their interest in Buffalo running back Travis Henry probably will increase. http://www.buffalonews.com/editorial...26/2020154.asp

"The Bills will save 2 Million Dollars against this years Cap sometime in July by spreading out 3 Million in roster bonuses that MW was due to recieve this summer. That will put his cap # at 7.46 million allowing cap relief."

Has this savings been accounted for on the Salary Cap Updates?

Taylor has admitted that his injury was more serious than the organization 1st claimed.. With that type of injury taking a full 2 seasons to recover from, I don't see anyway possible that Taylor can be anywhere near 100%.. It took WM 2 full seasons to recover from a simalar knee injury.

Look for Henry to come into play as the Jags plan B over the next 2-3 weeks when the Jags staff says they will know Taylors' status on the upcoming season.

No, because the conversion of the $3 million roster bonus to signing bonus is not official.

The thing that the Buffalo news misses:

Does the conversion of the $3 million roster bonus to signing bonus alter the "Deion charges" in MW's contract? At this point

If it does, then the Bills would realize less than $2 million in cap savings

With a Henry trade, that may be enough to sign Russ Verba, if he'll bite on the offer. Low base salary with a decent bonus, puts us right in the ballpark.

I'd like to see MW do more, but it ain't going to happen this season.

Browns running back Reuben Droughns recanted his pledge to hold out from training camp if his old contract is not renegotiated. Droughns staged a walkout during the team's offseason conditioning program in May and went public with his unhappiness with a contract the Browns inherited from Denver that calls for $950,000 in 2005 and $1.1 million in 2006. Droughns, who apparently went against the advice of agent Drew Rosenhaus, now says he will play the season for what he is owed and worry about a new deal next year.

Classic Rosend**k. He is going to screw with WM's head and cause problems down the road. Guaranteed.

Good for Reuben to recognize he needs to play and not listen to him.
