What you have to understand is that Brooks has been on a high level for a longer period than Spikes and has that ever elusive SB Ring.

See I feel like that's what people said last year though, and he went out this season and outperformed everybody. 4 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, 5 interceptions, 2 returned for TD's. I got the feeling that this article was pertaining more to the present and to this upcoming season, not their careers. I respect what Derrick Brooks has done, but I don't think he's been better then Takeo these last couple seasons, and now he's 32.Originally posted by CAbills

Well I see both of them play!!! Brooks was a great LB a few years ago. Takeo is better now. But I see both of these guys as different OLB's. That really is a tough question but both are great...GO Gators!!!!!!

spikes is the best linebacker in football (yes including ray lewis) and could be the best deffensive player in the nfl.
do you remember a few years ago when someone said that spikes was better than lewis and the ravens got all gay about it? at that point spikes was close to lewis, but prolly not there yet. he is definately better now.
spikes is a top 5 deffensive player in the nfl, might be the best deffensive player in the nfl overall.
if we had a steadier pass rush from our front four, he would get more sacks (being the fifth man in on some plays) prolly 10+. that would put him up with LT's numbers.
spikes does every single thing better than every other linebacker in the nfl.
5 ints and 2 tds would be a career year for a CB who gets to the pro bowl regularly, and spikes has done that or close to the last 2 years.Comment
