If there is so much concern over gandy, why not move teague out to LT and give Duke a shot at center?

Because Teague would get Losman slaughtered.

The Bills need a kicker. Badly.

They've actually started the same number of games at LT and Gandy's numbers, in terms of sacks given up, etc., are somewhat better than T.Teague's.

Also, McNally has indicated that he wants to keep Teague at Center this season, if possible, so that there will be some continuity on the right side of the O-line. Because he does have some experience playing LT, they can slide T.Teague over there if they need to do so, but keeping him at Center gives Preston a chance to get his feet wet and get some NFL experience before taking on the burden of having to step in as the starter. While it is possible for a rookie to play well at Center, it is also a position where it can be helpful to have a starter with some experience, rather than a raw rookie, because the Center makes the blocking assignment calls for the offensive line--starting a rookie center with a first year starting QB the chances of making bad calls and/or line adjustments would multiply, whereas having an experienced Center might allow for quicker and better line adjustments when the QB changes or misses a call. If the Bills don't have to move Teague to LT, Preston can get some game experience and decent practice time in before being called on to play and have to make those line calls and adjustments the majority of the time--which should allow him to be better prepared when he is called on to do so than he would be at this stage.
Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. And, thus it was that they surrendered their freedom; not with a bang, but without even a whimper.

All this is true, plus, JP was quoted as saying that he hoped Teague would remain as Center b'cse they had already begun developing some chemistry playing together.

No kidding. How many sub-par kickers are we going to bring in and cut this off-season?
