Henry Trade - Maybe it will finally be over!

Jaguars | Closing in on Henry Trade
    Thu, 14 Jul 2005 16:16:43 -0700

Bart Hubbuch, of the Florida Times-Union, reports the Jacksonville Jaguars are close to completing a long-discussed trade for Buffalo Bills RB Travis Henry. Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio said Thursday, July 14, in a statement released by the team that a deal for Henry could be completed "in the next few days or week."

I'm interested in seeing what the compensation would be.

I'd really rather not see him in Jax....but in the same breath hopefully this closes the door on all of this nonsense.

I hate to see him go, I really do, but it has to happen. Good luck Travis, I loved watching you run.

Ditto. He played hurt all the time. I respect him.

I wish Travis all the best. He was a great RB, when it was his time in Buffalo. Unfortunately, the NFL (And sports in general) is all about "what have you done for me lately?", but this is business. It's time for Willis to shine, but may Travis do well!

I would like for him to grow up and accept a back up role with the Bills cause I think him and Willis would be a great backfield

This is a pipe dream we all kinda share but will never happen in todays sports world. Shine quickly and early in your career or never be heard of again.

Travis is at that point, If he doesn't have a good couple of seasons the next 3 years (which I believe he does in the right system) he will never be heard from again.

Good luck ya head down not seeing the gapping wide open hole gimpin ole RB!

I can't blame TH for wanting out...Usually the contract after your rookie contract will be the most lucrative contract they will sign as a professional football player. If he was a back up for another year his value will be a lot lower. If TH was 4-5 years older I would say suck it up and be a back up but he is in his prime right now.
I commend him for him playing hurt for the better of the team. He always scared me with his fumbles the kid has heart.

Am I the only one that doesnt give a **** what Henry does? He whined about being overtaken by a superior back and then pouted all season long. When he did get a chance to play, he did nothing. He had a couple good seasons, but nothing great enough to warrant that attitude he has.

I don't know man- Henry played a few really good seasons here. He's tough as nails and played hurt. On one hand, I can't blame the Bills for taking McGahee when they had the chance- he's clearly better than Henry. On the other hand, Henry was getting the job done- in what other profession do they hire someone else to do your job when you're doing well just because someone else may be able to do it a little better?

In '03 Travis was the only bright spot on an otherwise terrible offense- he fought hard every game and I'll never forget that.
