DENVER -- Joe Sakic was placed on injured reserve retroactive to Dec. 13 by the Colorado Avalanche after missing the last five games with a sprained right ankle.

The Avalanche on Thursday also recalled forward Riku Hahl from its AHL affiliate in Hershey, Pa. Hahl missed most of training camp with a rib injury, but he has seven goals and seven assists in 28 games with Hershey.

Sakic, the Avalanche's captain, was injured Dec. 13 during a 4-3 overtime loss in Edmonton.

He'll be back. He's been listed DTD for about 2 weeks. He played one game and scored a goal then hadn't played since. I prefer win-win trades ;)

Not me- I prefer screwing the opposition. Like trading Kevin Weeks for Brind'Amour then picking up Kevin weeks off waivers a month later.

I love those deals...

I think I dumped Weekes because of his concussion and I needed a G to actually play
