Re: Bruschi Sitting Out the Season
Tedy still holds out hopes of playing again, after sitting out this season. Hopefully, that comes to pass.
This is easily the biggest obstacle the Patriots have to overcome this coming season. Though the Pats are deep at LB, there aren't many players like Tedy Bruschi, with his knack for making big plays in big games.
The most overplayed aspect of the Patriots chances this coming season is the losses of Weis and Crennel. The Pats coaching will still be top-notch, and they likely will have their best offensive team since Belichick arrived.
However, there is no sugarcoating how much Tedy's leadership and fire meant to the Patriots defense. His loss leaves the biggest question on the Pats for this coming season.

Bruschi to sit out 2005 season
BOSTON (AP) -- Tedy Bruschi didn't decide whether to end his career. He just put the decision off for a year.
The Patriots linebacker said Wednesday he will sit out this season because of a stroke he suffered 10 days after helping New England win its third Super Bowl in four years.
``Tedy ... has declared his intentions to forgo the 2005 campaign,'' Patriots spokesman Stacey James said in a statement. ``Tedy pledges to focus on his health and his family while continuing to offer ongoing support to his teammates throughout the upcoming season.''
Bruschi, 32, suffered a mild stroke on Feb. 16, three days after playing in the Pro Bowl and 10 days after helping New England beat the Philadelphia Eagles 24-21 in the Super Bowl. James said Bruschi has made daily progress in his rehabilitation.

Re: Bruschi Sitting Out the Season
Why the hell should he play. 3 Super Bowl Rings. What else could he possibly accomplish besides dieing on the field given his condition. He's got name recognition, he could do anything.Lou Saban: You can get it done, you can get it done. And what’s more, you’ve gotta get it done.

Re: Bruschi Sitting Out the Season
Wow! The Patriots have 17 linebackers on their current roster. The article talks about how the Patriots were prepared for Bruschi leaving...but in my opinion, none will come close to replacing him as effectively as if he played again! Which I guess is good news for us...
