Losman had better be nimble, though, because he will be playing behind a line that might not be as effective as a year ago with the free-agent departures of left tackle Jonas Jennings and steady backup Marcus Perry. Four-fifths of the line is set if they can keep Trey Teague at center and free-agent guard Bennie Anderson plays as he did in Pittsburgh.

It's even worse than that: The Bills were dead last in the NFL in red zone passing and red zone conversions!

A lot of national publications are, understandably, downgrading the Bills' outlook for this season based on the fact that JP Losman is going to be a first year starting QB and can reasonably be expected to make "rookie" mistakes and struggle at time. However, those analysts don't take into consideration the fact that the Bills finished as well as they did last season in spite of the fact that they were 26th in the league in overall passing offense and atrocious in the red zone.

While it is true that Losman may struggle at times this season, it will be hard for him to be much worse in the red zone than Bledsoe, especially with his foot-speed. With teams forced to focus on W.McGahee in the red zone, opportunities will be there for the Bills to run roll-outs and bootlegs in the red zone and for Losman to scramble in passing situations that simply were not there with Bledsoe at QB. As a result, while JP's struggles may keep the Bills from getting to the red zone quite as often, I expect the Bills to be more effective and efficient in the red zone than they were last season. And, as I see it, that will make up for any drop-off in the passing game resulting from Losman struggling, if, indeed, he actually struggles more than Bledsoe did.

wow, I didn't realize our Special Teams were that good. I mean, yeah, McGee scored a few times, and Moorman rocks, but I thought Lindell really dragged them down.

Ranking 2nd in defense and 2st in special teams . . . Marv would no doubt approve.

I also didn't realize our passing O was so shoddy. Yeah, you can say he had less targets in '04, after losing Price and Jay R. . . . and there were LOTS of dropped balls, but perhaps Losman can't do much worse.

Now we just need to get the kickoffs and FG's figured out . . .

I think the drop-kick is still legal . . . maybe Moorman can take care of FG's, too. :D

He was once regarded as the best kicker in the NFL, and I'd go out on a limb and say he could still outkick Lindell.

No, they just knew not to bother trying to make a FG outside 40 yards. If the ST don't go on the field, they don't look bad. :Dfunny thing is...he made a couple longer-distance ones that were negated because they called a timeout just before the snap

I personally don't care for the man. You can say he made some while time outs were kicked, but why can't he make them when they COUNT!!!! Lindell may have had a pretty good year inside the 40, but if you ever watch him kick it, it still is not down the middle, but barley making it threw. He better stup up this year, or its A B see you later. Id take christie over lindell right now anyday. Moorman should take the kicks, damn hit hits the $h!t out of that ball.

Not a big fan of stats but he was in the top half of the league in accuracy..ranking #12..and the top 4 had 1, 3, 3, and 1 kicks total respectively
