ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- The Detroit Lions fired executive director of player personnel Bill Tobin on Friday, less than two years after he was brought to the team with high hopes.
"Bill did a good job, but we made this decision today for philosophical reasons,'' Lions president Matt Millen said in a statement. "He was part of our player personnel process and that process will continue. We thank him for his efforts and we wish him the best.''
