J.P. Losman spent the first 18 years of his life in Venice, Calif., a funky, beachside district within the city limits of Los Angeles. He spent his next five in New Orleans.

After a year and a half in Buffalo, here's his take on the City of Good Neighbors: "Venice is more of a working-class town, like Buffalo," he said. "People have to grind and work hard for their living, there's really no easy way out. You've just got to grind it out. http://www.buffalonews.com/editorial/20050724/1046606.asp

That is true about the californian mexican food - it is the be-all end-all. You might say it's peerless.

And it's cheap and filling (unlike chinese food).
