Why did they wait so long????

We could have won in Denver, We could have won or at least made it respectable vs the Jets

They waited so long because GW is so stinking bull headed he won't admit when he is wrong. I would not be supprised if TD went in and told GW to get Watson off the field.

I wonder what Watson did to get disciplined. Anyone know?

I like Thomas' instincts and aggressiveness.

notice how improved our defense seems with him in there?

The jury is still out, IMO. We played in high wind against GB and played against the Bungles today...

I swear you can't tell the difference between him and Nate until the announcer calls out his name.

Kevin, in the last two games alone, has shown he was a real steal as a 6th round pick. I believe he had been rated as a 1st or 2nd rounder before that luggage screwup on Combine weekend. He's definitely shown that he deserved to go in the 2nd, IMO.

I'll play the defender on GW on this one. Not like Van and the other guy (Murph?) might have been doing that already, but they mentioned today that Thomas wasn't as good at the start of the eyar but he worked harder than anyone in the film room, etc. and really became good. I think he really learned a lot from Winfield and Clements too because you can see a lot of both of them in him. I think that's what guys like Watson are lacking. They wanna be their own man but they gotta looking at what the Superstars do, even if they are younger.

I think we need to calm down a bit and see how he does when the opponent isn't passing into a hurricane or when the opponent isn't the worst team in the league. He does show good skills - but lets see how he plays against a good team.

Remember - Watson looked great in a couple of games last year.

I wouldn't be surprised if TD has a better draft this year without a first rounder than half the GMs with a first round pick.

He had only what one tackle today? According to the stats provided by espn.com Ahmed Brooks played better with 4 tackles and a 1 int. What did thomas do that was so special. I missed the game.

Sometimes it's better when you DON'T notice a player. Just ask Watson.

Thomas came up with some stops today that would have been touchdowns with Watson in there. I don't think the jury is out at all. It's clear Watson could not get the job done. He's history. Thomas should have been playing eight weeks ago.

teams like the colts - Rob Morris was a flop.

The pats too - Andy Katzenmoyer comes to mind.

Bill Polian has lost his edge.

He did not have to make tackles because his reciever was not catching any balls!

Kevin Thomas is damn good - he puts on tight coverage, but he doesn't draw penalties. He broke up like 2 fourth down passes didn't he?

BillC

I watched the game on TV. He broke up passes, and was glued to receivers. And most importantly, didn't do the stupid things like forget to look for the ball when breaking up pass plays. No interference calls on him.

After the first half, they never went his way again

Nate Clements better be a probowler next year.

ok I didnt see the game and stats said nothing special so I was wondering what the hubbub was all about, looks like we are set at Nickel and Dime back next year with Thomas and Brooks

I'd keep Watson because they gave him an extension IIRC and at worst he could be a decent 5th CB. Right? How bout a safety?

KT had some playing time earlier in the season and didn't do anything. He wasn't ready then. He is ready now. Could he have come in a game or two or three earlier and been effective? Maybe, but I don't really see the point of trying to second guess whether or not the coach made a good call on the exact timing of his choice to get a young player more active in games. GW will know right from the start of next season that KT is a player and use him accordingly.

Way too expensive to play 5th CB and special teams. The 5th CB should be a rookie or 2nd year player. I see us going into camp next year planning on Thomas, Bostic, and Brooks as the top reserves at CB.

I see Thomas starting at CB. If he plays like this all next season he'll easily be our best cover CB, something that we've sorely lacked.

Clements and Winfield hit hard and support the run very well, but in terms of pure coverage, they certainly aren't perfect. Thomas is very close to playing at a pro bowl level for coverage if this keeps up. He sticks to WRs like stink on poop.

I don't know enough of Brooks and Thomas but does one of them look like they could be switched over to safety? Too bad we gave Watson an extension on his contract. I wonder what Watson's signing bonus was and if he could be a June 1st casualty.
