    12. Marek Zagrapan
    TEAM: Chicoutimi Sagueneens (QMJHL)
    POSITION: Centre
    HEIGHT: 6'1
    WEIGHT: 183 lbs.
BORN: 12/16/86 - Presov, Czech Rep.
NOTES AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Selected 15th overall in the 2004 European import draft after playing two seasons with Zlin in the Czech Republic...represented Slovakia at the 2005 World Junior Hockey Championship...scored 11 goals and 17 points in 17 games in the 2005 QMJHL playoffs. BOB MCKENZIE'S TAKE: A top offensive player who is a smooth skater and smooth with the puck. Some question his grit and ability to play in heavy traffic. A real wild card in terms of interest, everything from a top 10 candidate to not being a first rounder.

I was worried the moment they moved into that slot, I figured it was too good to be true, to have Staal still on the board.

However, something tells me that Darcy would've passed on him anyways, and took the eventual small, soft, fast European winger.

How'd they move up to 12th? Who'd they trade with?

The Rangers moved up to the #12 position by trading with Atlanta, who swapped picks earlier in the day with San Josè (the #12 pick for #8).

Excellent selection a lot like Marion Gaborik but Marek is more of a playmaker.
