Here are some of my impressions of the palyers from tonights practice :
Offense
1.) Losman- About what I expected. Some really nice throws mixed in with some pretty crappy throws. It's nice to see a QB that can actually move around the pocket when things break down.
2.) Gandy- I sure hope TD is looking at either Stussie or Verba. Schobel beat Gandy like a rented mule on several occasions tonight. He's going to get Losman killed if he doesn't improve dramatically, soon!
3.) Reed- He's done. I just think from watching him tonight that he doesn't do anything exceptionally well. He's not that fast and doesn't have sure hands. I really think he'll be cut. Funny story. Reed catches a ball in one of the drills and Campbell is running with him and grabs him by the jersy and tells him that he'll escort him to the endzone in case he forgot where it was. Ouch! Got a pretty good laugh out of the crowd.
4.) Parrish- Fast as all he11 and has great hands. Needs to work on getting seperation from the DB at the line. If he can do that, look out. He's got the type of speed that makes you just shake your head in amazement.
5.) Aiken- Was perhaps the most impressive WR tonight. Made play after play after play. If he's given a chance, I think he's going to be pretty solid.
6.) Moulds- Looked pretty good. Came back to the ball when things broke down and provided Losman an opportunity to make a play. I reallly don't see any signs of Mouilds slowing down any time soon. He's looks to be in great shape.
7.) Evans- Not too much to report here. Didn't really see many balls thrown his way.
8.) S. Williams- Aside from Willis, he looked to be the leading candidate for the backup RB job. Had some nice runs and appears to have added some bulk in the off season.
9). Willis- One word : STUD. Looks as though the burst is back and he's going to be a load to handle this year. In the 11 on 11 drills, he hit the hole and outran the entire 1st string secondary. It wasn't even close. He has that swagger about him and I think he's going to have a monster year.
10.) B. Anderson- This guy is huge. He makes Kirsty Alley look like Kate Moss. Looked pretty good in both pass blocking and run blocking. I really think he needs to drop a few pounds before the season starts. He seemed winded after several of the plays.
Defense
1.) Schobel- Looked pretty good. Then again, he was going against Gandy the majority of the time. See the above comment on Gandy.
2.) Spikes- Same old same old. Looks like the pro bowler that he is.
3.) Clements- See above comment.
4.) McGee- He's going to be a good one. I watched him run step for step with Evans as one of the plays broke down. Losman threw to Evans and McGee was there to deflect the ball away.
5.) Adams- How this guy is able to move as well as he does is beyond me. He's huge and looks to be in mid-season form.
6.) Milloy- Intense. Looks like he's on a mission this year. He was talkin a lot of smack throughout most of the practice. Brings it on every play.
Thats all I got. It's really hard to take much from these type of practices. They were in just helmets and shoulder pads so the contact was limited. Should be an interesting year.
