Bruce smith: Yes or No

I'd say yes - just so we can watch him break Reggie's record in a Bills Uni (I think he'll just retire after this year - I hope he doesn't though), but he's still a productive DE.

Under certain conditions-


1) He wants to be here

2) Vet minimum or just above it- not going to waste cap space on a guy just to feel "Warm & Fuzzy"

3) He accepts his role, even if it's a back up role. He would be effective off the bench in certain situations.

I'm pretty sure there's no chance of him coming back. Apparently he was going to retire but didn't because the Snyders and Marvin Lewis talked him out of it. He's now going to evaluate how the offseason goes in Washington before making up his mind.

As an every down player, no. If he became a Bill, and repeated his slow start like he did this year, that would hurt the Bills, defensively.

As a pass rushing situational player, yes, if the Bill's can't draft or sign a good one. I think we have yet to see the best of Shoebel if he can get a solid bookend rush from the other side. Same goes for Clements and Winfield and 46 defense. I think Smith still gives you a little more on third and long than Ahonato.
