Extra million is alot in a capped era. We have more cap room, but we're not willing to spend anything.

We need a defenseman AND a scorer...We cant be giving up 5.5 mill and only addressing one need.

For the record, Roenick hasn't been traded to LA....yet. He's still a Philthy Flyer for now.

We all knew that Forsberg wasn't coming to Buffalo. Hell, I don't think anyone is coming to Buffalo. But Clarke deserves a pat on the back for swiping the Avs' best overall player. The offer he landed Foppa for should make other GMs embarrassed. He is basically giving the Flyers a discount. Can you tell me no other team was willing to give him more than that? Sure, he is injured yearly, but the amount of firepower he provides while in the lineup is worth every penny. Yikes.

Indeed. But that's what happens when you are the 1st team to go over the new salary cap. Leave it to Clarke! Now, teams can virtually offer peanuts to get the guys he's trying to dump. I can't imagine J.R. being enough to get back under the cap. I wonder who else is on their way out?
