It seems we are stuck with another owner that doesn't care about his fans just his bottom line. Then in January when the Sabres are 14 points out of 8th, management will complain about low attendence.

Option 1: Spend money to make money. Bring in great players, fans will turn out, the team will make the playoffs, owner makes money.

Option 2: Let your best forward and Dman walk - while still keeping 3 NHL caliber goalies. Bring in no one of consequence. Market the team based on the potential of rookies, not the quality of veterans. Fans lose interest when they see how much other small market teams improved. Games are half empty. Team finishes in 10th. Owner loses money. Decides to reduce team salary even more next year because "the team has lost 6 million dollars". 2 years later owner sells team to a lottery winner from West Seneca, a life long Sabres fan, who builds a dynasty.
