I was reading the Bills Digest I bought when I went to TC yesterday (Vol2, #21) and there's an article that talks about things Mularkey wants to focus on this year. I thought it was pretty interesting. Here are some of the more important pts talked about:
- Mularkey plans to focus on plays from the playbook that best fit our guys. Last year alot of focus went into understanding the players' capabilities. This year Mularkey says he knows what they are capable of and can concentrate on the schemes they will run instead.
- B'cse of the above, he can also place more emphasis and attention to rookies so they develop faster.
- Wants team to be better conditioned as well as faster (already evidenced in the TC workouts).
- Wants to work more on Red Zone plays and 3rd downs.
- Is happy with ST except in penalties where they were #1 in the league!
- Mularkey claims the team has a feel as though they are on a mission and says he thinks it developed with their loss to Pittsburgh. He says he himself feels it and is motivated by it.
